Bloggin' Mamas...and their friends
Today was a long-awaited get together of some local lady bloggers and blog readers. We had a grand time of visiting, getting to know each other (as much as one can with 10 moms and 38 children between us!). Did anyone besides me feel like there were many more children than that at some points?
The main reason for the get-together was to meet Kim Coghlan, of Life in a Shoe. She was over from Texas (you'll remember that we met her and her husband when WE were in Texas a few weeks back), and the ladies who came over today have all read and commented on her blog.
And so did Guenna...she was kind enough to show it to me before she gobbled it. If she doesn't sleep tonight, it's because she ate plenty of chocolate, slurked down someone's coffee, and part of a bottle of Pepsi. That's one determined caffeine junkie!
Meet Sarah, Lindsey, and Kendra...some bloggers, some online photo journalers...all very sweet ladies.
Lindsey won the How Well Do You Know Kim contest...we had a good laugh over the answers that some gave. Poor Perry (Kim's hubby) - two folks thought his name was Bob. Might it be time for a change?

We even had a couple of men show up. Well, PapaPyro didn't exactly show up, since he lives here and was kind enough to host all of the ladies and their hordes of children. I mean, all those little blessings running around in the snow, no the rain, no the sun, no the snow, no the rain...Kim of CunninghamRules!'s hubby, Zach, joined Erik for some man-time.
We had a feast of foods, and even though our plan was originally to barbecue, the snow, rain, and sleet quenched that idea. We griddled indoors...and ate too much. See Kim on the left, there? Look at that belly...talk about a hefty dinner! (I didn't fool you? You're right
...she's just a cute preggo.)
Kim's lovely grandparents drove her and Deanna the THREE HOURS up to our home...they were so gracious and a delight to have. They ran errands for a few hours, but we all wish they'd stayed!
We also got better acquainted with Kristen and her sweet kiddos...they were in Texas when we were - but they avoided the horrors of flying and drove sensibly on the solid ground. Smart folks. She's funny, too...let's all email her and convince her to start a blog, okay?
Okay.
Thanks, Ladies...we had a wonderful time. There were some that weren't able to come, and we missed you greatly. The more, the merrier, I say!

You got yours up before me!
My photo computer is not connected to the net right now. Might not be able to get to it until THursday minumum at this rate. Unless I take another vacation day to blog. *wry*
You're a wonderful, gracious host. I am glad you got a picture of Eej and Obed! I loved the two of them together and am not sure I got one.
Oh WOW! You are on it! :) I'm off to bed, but popped on to peek if you had blogged the event. Looks like a fabulously fun day with a full house!
Sleep sweet.
I love you so much Karen, you are the best, and it was such a fun day! Thank you for being the wonderful gracious host that you are! Kim
Wow! There were so many great pictures of that cute little girl in a blue dress! Her mama is lucky to have her (and her sisters too).
We all enjoyed the pictures. It is nice to see pictures and feel that there must be something wrong with the camera because it adds so many pounds (only to certain individuals). I will have to remember to wear that outfit more often:)
We had so much fun. We almost got another little boy. Timmy said goodbye to our kiddos. He told me he was a Heath kid. When I told him I was missing a boy today and maybe he could take his place he decided to stay an Engstrom and run for the hills. He would be a keeper though:)
Thanks for a great time even though I didn't win the Kim contest prize or Timmy.
Looks like a super fun day!
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun....and food. :) So wish that I could have been there. Miss you all!

Karen,
Thanks again for inviting us to be part of the fun. It was really interesting being the one and only Non-blogger at a (ahem!)Bloggers' Party. But, heh, that's ok. I'm used to being the weird one ;o)
Btw, love the photos- gives me a chance to see what my children did all day ("Oh, yeah! They *were* there.") :o)
Blessings,
The Non-blogging One
Dear NBO...you fit in just fine.
:-) You can come anytime - we loved having you.
And everyone else. Thank you again for coming. And Andrea and Erin, please join us next time - because there WILL be a next time!
Sorry we couldn't make it, but it looks like your house was plenty full, especially with bad weather, without our clan adding ten more people to the coziness! LOL!
Awesome pics!
I'll send you the ones I took, but there's only a few - most centered around a goat and including the backs of many little heads!
WAAAHHHH!!!
I'm so sorry I couldn't make it...I think being with all of you gals would have been funner then a specialist doctor wearing a concerned look around me for two hours!
Are you going to do it again?? This summer??
You are beautiful, Karen. You are hospitality in action and that is a blessing!
Talk soon!
Leanne in Longview
Thanks so much Karen for your generosity and hospitality. We all had such a fun time! I haven't even downloaded my pictures onto my computer yet, so you will just have to wait a few (weeks) days for my post :) Bless you all, it was so great to meet you. I'm thinking we should have all our families meet at a park sometime this summer for a big BBQ, how does that sound? :) Blessings!
Thanks so much for posting pictures! :) I sure missed being there! It looks like so much fun. :)
Blessings,
Michele
